Labor Day Deals!

Happy Friday! Is anyone doing some shopping over the holiday weekend? So many stores are having amazing deals right now, so it's a good time to shop! Whenever there is a big sale weekend, I find it is usually best to shop the better quality stores, such as ae, Loft, Banana Republic or GUESS (to name a few). This is because I can't always afford these clothes at regular prices, but a sale is a great way to add more quality, lasting pieces to my wardrobe.

American Eagle is having 30% off and free shipping with code 70423781. ae.com

Love this colorblock skirt from Loft on sale for $25.00. So flattering! skirt

Chambray a few different ways

Chambray = my latest obsession. Ever since I bought my chambray shirt from Forever21 earlier this summer, I have found any excuse to wear it. I even wore it as a beach cover-up. So, what is chambray? If you don't already know, chambray is a fabric that is similar to denim but more lightweight and much more comfortable.

Here are some celebs sporting chambray:

Lately, my favorite way to wear chambray has been to pair it with a summer dress. I don't know about you guys, but I wear a ton of dresses in the summer. But! a summer dress paired with a chambray shirt for cooler weather? Yes, please.

Here is my sundress from Forever21 that I wore all summer:

I paired this dress with my chambray shirt from Forever21 and experimented with 3 different styles:

First, I tied my chambray shirt into a little knot at my waist:

Next, I added a belt that I had to knot at the waist:

(I made this one bigger so that you can see a close-up of the belt)

For the final look, I just unbuttoned the shirt and wore it loose:

My favorite way that I wore it was probably the first look, but I think all are really fun. Next time I decide to wear the shirt loose, I will probably add more jewelry to spice it up a bit.

Kim Kardashian inspired look

Yesterday I experimented with a monochromatic look. Monochromatic is when you wear different shades of the same color. I think that a monochromatic look can work for anyone, but it is especially nice on us petite girls. Since the look is all in the same color scheme, it really elongates the body ;) I am only 5 feet tall, so I will take any extra height I can get!

My inspiration picture for this look is this picture of Kim Kardashian:

I don't have clothes that exactly match what Kim is wearing, but I made my own look using the same idea of wearing different shades of the same color. I have been wanting to wear my blue skinny jeans, so I decided to go with a blue monochromatic look.

I originally wore this look with some neutral sandals, but I changed into these turquoise platform sandals from Target later in the day. I kinda love how it looks with the turquoise sandals.

Here are the blue skinny jeans I am wearing from American Eagle for $39.99. jeans

Here is a similar studded racerback tank from Charlotte Russe on sale for $7.50. The tank I am wearing is actually from Charlotte Russe, so the color is probably really similar to this one. tank

Here is a necklace from Target for $34.99 that would look nice. necklace

What do you guys think? How would you wear this look?

Pop of Color

This past weekend the fiance and I went to a Latin Festival in the park. Whenever I feel stuck on what to wear, I find it is a good idea to pick one item that I can build an outfit around and then add to that. In this case, I really wanted to wear this bright orange necklace from Target (last summer). I built the rest of my look around what would go with that necklace.

I ended up changing right after the festival because it was too hot in those pants! I added my favorite cut off shorts from American Eagle (from 3 summers ago), and some wedges I bought on sale from Marshall's last summer.

Similar to my look:

It is hard to find cut off shorts online and in stores right now, but it is a good time to experiment with making your own cut off shorts. How to make your own cut off shorts

Back to school outfit

As promised, here is my back to school outfit. I only had one class today, so I kinda lucked out :P

This is another romper look. I just love rompers in the summertime. They are so fun and great for hot days. I paired this ikat romper with a mustard statement necklace and mustard wedges. These wedges are my favorite pair that I own. I have worn them to death, and I think I might cry if they ever fall apart. I actually bought them on sale at Target 3 summers ago. The mustard necklace is also Target from last summer.
